Twitter has launched a new update and this time they used television to announce that. They have introduced cover photos to the profiles and they have disclosed it in a US TV Show “Today Show”. Yes, that’s right, just like Facebook, now we would have cover photos on our twitter profiles as well.
Twitter has completely taken care of their users as well. Unlike Facebook, Twitter update is not compulsory to use. So they have totally left the decision on the profile owner. If you like to apply the cover photo, cool go ahead with it. If not, then also it’s fine.
I personally will prefer you to go for it as it will give you a new look to your profile. Here I would be showing you how to add cover photo to your profile & I will show my twitter profile as well after the use of cover photo to show you a glimpse of how it looks after the update.
How To Add Cover Photo To Your Twitter Profile
1. Sign into your Twitter profile & click on the ‘Gear‘ icon at the top right corner.
2. Navigate to the ‘Settings‘ option & click on it.
3. The Settings page will open up. On the left navigation panel, there would be a lot of options that we can configure. We need to click on ‘Design’ to change the cover photo.
4. Scroll Down to ‘Customize Your Own‘ area, and click on ‘Change Header’. The miminum dimesions are 1252 X 626 and the file size is 5 MB.
5. Upload the header image, edit it according to your own wish like drag to the image that you want to highlight, zoom in etc and click save.
My New Twitter Profile With Cover Photo
I was really excited to hear about this cover photo thing, so I spent sometime on it by trying out different images of mine alone, then with some friends, and many more. And finally I settled down with the photo that one of my friend clicked when we attended the G India Event. So, here’s my twitter profile with the cover photo.

Hi Harneet, I got the email from Twitter but I didn’t get a chance to change my background for Twitter yet. I wish it was the same size as the one on Google+ or Facebook. I don’t have time to make a new one right now. lol! Your’s looks good
